The thought "Serve the People" was pretended by Mao Zedong, which is a very important part of the Mao Zedong’s ideology, and has been the Communist Party’s purpose and principle for a long time. Some of the scholars hold the opinion that the thought "Serve the People" is out of time, we don’t have to conduct vigorous propaganda, and to act as it. As far as I can see, the thought " Serve the People" has different influences in different countries and on different times. In modern China, especially on the primary stage of socialistic China, to research and practice this thought has an extraordinary affect on our country’s development. Below this paper, we will discuss such questions:how the thought "Serve the People" was formed、 developed and had become the purpose and principle of our Communist Party at the end; under this thought’s guidance, such a part of people have set a good example for us; "Serve the People" is served for what people actually, and how to serve? It includes what deep meanings. To research and practice it can bring what enlightenment and modern values for us.
