Inhabited by the deep inland, these regions generally away from the center of the political and cultural, have strong ethnic and religious customs and complex ideology. Because of remote and closed geography and backward transportation and communication infrastructure, the economic and social development and the dissemination of advanced culture lag behind. At present, with the deepening of reform and opening up, the ethnic minority areas’ social transformation have speed up, and various social contradictions and social problems appeared in large numbers. Those strong demand of Marxism theory and the latest achievements in the solution of the contradictions and problems, the economic and social development, people’s production and living, constitute a powerful driving force to popularization of Marxism in ethnic minority areas. The thesis regards the history, experience, status, problems, paths and countermeasures of the popularization of Marxism in ethnic minority areas as the object of research, and points out the current outstanding problems:on the one hand, the leadership and organization of the popularization of Marxism in ethnic minority areas is weak; the understanding of its importance is not enough; the current work is ineffective.
