Since the civilization era of human has been come, freedom has become one of the problems of the philosophy research, their interpretation for freedom is even controversial, but many philosophers’ cognition on freedom have been bound in the background of the era which they have lived. So, they were unable to catch the true meaning of freedom. Marx inherited the previous theoretical achievements about freedom critically, humans in the reality had been regarded as the foundation of freedom, and the human labor practice had been regarded as the basic way to make human’s freedom come true. Then, he put the achievements of freedom to the Free Kingdom which everyone would develop comprehensively, freely and harmoniously.As to distinguish the significant differences between Marx and western liberalism and point the practical significance for the socialist construction of our country, this paper makes objectively analysis and elaboration about the history formation process of Marx’s concept of freedom and the scientific connotation of it. Moreover, it helps us to study Marx freedom more scientifically and objectively, so that making sure it plays a significant role for offering the correct guidance for the Contemporary Socialist Construction in China.This paper is divided into four parts, the first part describes Western philosophers elaborated some views about freedom from different dimensions from the ancient Greek mythology to modern western philosophy.,and analyzes limitations of their theoretical in turn.In the second part, it analyzes Marx’s books in different periods to tell the changes of Marx’s idea. The development of Marx’s idea on freedom had experienced many developing processes, from the Moral Freedom in the student time to the sprouting period of Intellectual Freedom; and then, from the Rationalism Freedom to the Materialism Freedom during the period of Initial formation; finally, from the Materialism Freedom to the mature period of the Communism Freedom. For these,Some famous philosophers’ views on Freedom, such as Kant, Hegel, Fichte,Feuerbach and others had made an important effect on him.The third part analyzes the scientific implication of Marx’s concept of freedom to highlight Marx’s thought of freedom system which is creative, scientific and practical.Freedom is human freedom in the reality, and freedom is the essence of human being.The achievement process of freedom is a historical developing process which human beings complies with the Objective Necessity through understanding it, and abandons the Capitalist Labor Alienation through practicing constantly. On the Free Kingdom,human being would get improvement more deeply and comprehensively. For that, we would reach to the real freedom.The fourth part analyzes the important practical significance of Marx’s concept of freedom for the Chinese socialist construction from the political, the economic, the cultural and the mainstream values. Marx’s concept of freedom offers an important theoretical source for building Chinese characteristics socialism and points a clear direction for reforming and construction of China.
