Study On The Cultivating Mode Of China University Of Mining And Technology’ MPA

The full name of MPA is called the Master of Public Administration,it committed to cultivate high-level and applied talents of government departments and non-governmental institutions. China University of Mining and Technology established MPA from 2005, After ten years development, China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA formed some experience. It is to sum up the China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA three cultivating mode with the method of literature research and survey research. Firstly, the ‘double connective’ cultivating mode embodied in combination of theoretical teaching and practical teaching, school teachers and off-school mentors, concentrated teaching and scattered guidance. Secondly, the regional government joint cultivating mode embodied in cooperating with regional government to conduct joint recruitment, teachers’ cooperation and practice bases. Thirdly, the advantage disciplines embedded cultivating mode embodied in enrolment concerned industry officials, scientific achievements serviced mining industry. Based on the practice of China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA, at present, China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA still exists some problems such as the imbalances of courses contents, the singleness of courses teaching, deficiency of teachers’ team, the singleness of structure of students and so on. The reason is that teaching resources are not satisfied of needs of MPA development, and MPA is short of culture construction and brand influence. To solve these problems and optimize the cultivating mode of China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA, firstly, China University of Mining and Technology need to strengthen the construction of teachers, courses and network teaching, innovating teaching mode to integrate and exploit teaching resources and improve the teaching quality. Secondly, China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA should shape the university MPA brand by conducting a total quality management, enhancing advantage disciplines orientation, integrating social resources, and creating MPA brand culture. China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA should accord with university condition, local condition, industry condition to be characteristic, level, and effective in order to ensure that China University of Mining and Technology’s MPA education keep vigorous and healthy development.
