Russian educator Ushenski said that there were three elements in universities,administration management,education and research.Administration management in universities is the key element for teaching and research,and ensures the development of the universities.The characteristics of administrative management determine that the work that administrative staffs engage in is diverse and complex.Administrative management is an occupation requiring a lot of emotion,strong work continuity,high expectations from service objects and pressure from various aspects during the process of serving people.In addition,with the continuous expansion of college enrollment scale,higher requirements of working competence and level are proposed for administrative staffs in colleges and universities.Pressures accumulated over a long period will inevitably cause job burnout,which is not conducive to the healthy development of administrative staffs and normal operation of colleges and universities.Taking administrative staffs of North China University of Science and Technology as examples,this research measures the job burnout of administrative staffs of North China University of Science and Technology and concludes that the overall level of job burnout of administrative staffs of North China University of Science and Technology is in medium level and significantly different in gender,age,education background,professional title,years of working and other statistical variables.With some negative effects,job burnout of administrative staffs has showed a growing trend.Integrating internal and external essential factors,this paper analyzes the causes of job burnt of administrative staffs of North China University of Science and Technology.External essential factors are mainly reflected in the pressure caused by occupation and its organizational environment,and internal essential factors are mainly analyzed from individual traits of character.With regard to specific reasons,strategies to alleviate job burnout are proposed from organization,individual and society levels.Organizations shall build a perfect professional title evaluation system,a reasonable salary system and a humanized performance evaluation system and provide staffs with opportunities to receive training and make a learning exchange.Individuals shall strengthen interpersonal communication,promote professional integrity and seek work interests and hobbies;finally,in social aspect,social members shall help each other psychologically.
