After the implementation of the Opening-up reform, China’s economy has seen a rapid overall development, but the corruption problem is also getting increasingly severe and its influences have reached increasingly far. Though CCP never ceases to fight against all forms of corruption, it fails to put a stop to corruption’s gaining momentum. After the 18 th National Party Congress, President Xi Jinping emphasized that it is of great urgency to fight against corruption and decided to take new measures to put more effort to address the corruption issue. The focus of this study is on the research of the development of China’s anti-corruption movement since the 1978 Opening-up Reform. In order to do this research, the anti-corruption ideas of a few classical Marxist theorists, some ideas from Chinese traditional culture and a review of some foreign countries’ anti-corruption movements are also introduced. Specifically, this study reviews the policies and ideas concerning anti-corruption generated in three periods, which are the 3rd Plenary Session of the 11 th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party to the 4th Plenary Session of the 13 th Central Committee period, the 4th Plenary Session of the 13 th Central Committee to 16 th National Party Congress period, the 16 th National Party Congress to 18 th National Party Congress period. Adding to the review, an analysis of President Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption ideas since the 18 th National Party Congress is presented in three parts, which are the construction of our party should join hand with the anti-corruption movements, fighting against the corruption should be a new norm; to closely be with Chinese people should be the main purpose of our political construction, and we need to set a new goal for our anti-corruption work, which is to build a clean government. In the last part, the difficulties that our present anti-corruption work is confronted with are identified, and some suggestions are given to improve our nation’s anti-corruption work.
