With the development of information warfare, tactical wireless network plays a more and more important status in the war. In recent years tactical network planning problem has become an advanced research hotspot, with the rising number of microwave stations and radio stations in tactical network because of the requirement of information war. Now, the application of tactical network planning is very backward and bigger cost, and it is inconvenient for operation. Therefore, it is effective to the tactical network planning that based on 3 dimensional visualization of geographic information, which could reduce the cost of network planning and distribute the resources reasonably and ensure the tactical network communication open. The planning comes true through the accurate prediction of electromagnetic wave transmission and the evaluation of battlefield electromagnetic environment in combination with 3 dimensional visualization of geographic information model.In this paper, a platform for tactical network planning based on a 3 dimensional visualization model of geographic information is presented, by which the tactical network include radio stations and microwave stations could be built and the basic planning could be completed, such as radio field strength prediction, interference analysis, microwave mesh network structure, frequency distribution.Firstly, a 3 dimensional visualization model of geographic information is made based on Sharp GL. The drawing process and the basic technology of Sharp GL are understood through the analysis of Sharp GL. Combining with the research on DEM,it has been realized that the 3 dimensional visualization of geographic information and some operations of the geographic information model has been realized through the study of Sharp GL key technology, such as geometric transformation, the platform of drawing and so on.Secondly, the analysis of the electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics and interference calculation based on geographic information. The microwave link transmission attenuation prediction model and ITU-RP.526 model which is accurate prediction mode of the electromagnetic wave diffraction propagation were expounded in detail, the analysis of interference that based on electromagnetic wave attenuation prediction was also introduced, and they were implementated insoftware combining with 3 dimensional geographic information model.Thirdly, the reliability algorithms of microwave network topology constraints.On the basis of analyzing the reliability of the network standard, the paper put forward an anti-destroying ability evaluation index based on network connectivity and a reliability evaluation index based on disjoint paths and power control, and a method for calculating the disjoint paths was explained in detail, then according to the two index, the k-connected algorithm for topology control based on network connectivity and the k-connected algorithm for topology control which was based on the node power minimization and disjoint paths were proposed.Fourthly, frequency assignment. The reasonable assignment of the spectrum can not only guarantee the network flow but also prevent the waste of resources.The frequency assignment problem was classified based on the analysis for mathematical model, and the paper introduces several mainstream assignment algorithms emphatically. According to the analysis of different algorithms’ performance and the advantages and disadvantages of various algorithms, a frequency assignment approach based on variant cellular genetic algorithm was proposed. And the convergence of algorithm was proved by the Matlab simulation Combined with the actual frequency assignment model.Finally, the software design of tactical network planning system based on dimensional visualization model of geographic information. According to the requirements of tactical network planning, it analyzed the basic function of tactical network planning, completed the architectural design of the software system, and realized the basic planning of the tactical network.
