Study On Socialized Eldercare In S City In Zhejiang Province

Eldercare becomes a more and more serious issue as China gradually steps into the aged society in the past years. The accelerating population ageing raises a huge impact on the traditional home geracomium, the functions of home geracomium has been continuously weakened with the development of the pasted 30 years reform and opening, market economy growth and the one family one child proliferation policy implementation. S city in Zhejiang Province, a typical prefecture of rapidly ageing population, has to burden an increasing pressure from socialized eldercare. Although S city has actively taken socialized elder care measures to meet the challenges from the increasing requirement of eldercare service, such as home geracomium, institutional geracomium and so on, it is similar to other cities, till facing the common and specific problems which restrict the full development of socialized eldercare system. The present paper is focused on the eldercare issue, investigates the read eldercare situation of S city through questionnaire survey and on-site visiting at H street, analyzes the existing problems using multiple-welfare theory, new public service theory and demand-layering theory, proposes that it is necessary to improve and develop the socialized eldercare system through renewing of mindset about elder care, balanced development of both community and home geracomium, support to establish diversified eldercare institutions and increase of elder care service quality to solve this eldercare problem.
