The Lineal Household Subdivision Scheme Basing On Full Population Database

As the basic cell of the society, family has the function of bearing, feeling, raising, education, support, career and so on. Population scientists focus on the family size and sociologists focus on family structure and function. The family size and the internal structures are the important indexes to divide the family type. Current, many people put the generations, family internal structure and the family size as the criteria of family type classification. They ignore the impact of flowing population on family type. The lineal family type is not detailed enough. The classification of the lineal family still needs to be refined.The main factors that influence the subdivision of the lineal household is the household generations, whether there exist skipped-generation households, marriage couples state(death, divorce, emigration and flow). The author put forward a subdivision scheme which divided the lineal family into four classes and 20 types. According to the household generations, the lineal family will be divided into two generations, three generations, four generations and five generations for 4 kinds of second level. According to whether there exist skipped-generation households, the lineal family will be divided into two generations, three generations, three generations with throwback, four generations, four generations with throwback and five generations for 6 kinds of third level. According to marriage couples state(death, divorce, emigration and flow), two generations(three generations, three generations with throwback, four generations) will be divided into 4 kinds of fourth level. According to marriage couples state of flowing, the four generations with throwback and five generations will be divided into 2 kinds of fourth level.Based on the relational schema given by full population database, the author extracted the household parameters and the generations’ parameters, and then built the recognition model of the lineal family.Taking time data in April 30 th, 2014 from the full population database of Hebei Province. The results demonstrate that in Hebei Province, the proportion of lineal household in the whole household is 14.69%. The household size of lineal household is 5.28 persons per household in Hebei Province. And the proportion of lineal family with two generations is 27.2%, the proportion of lineal family with three generations is 69.2%, the proportion of lineal family with four generations is 3.5%, the proportion of lineal family with five generations is 0.1%. The lineal family with three generations is the main family of lineal family. A high proportion of the lineal family is found in Hufu plain. The proportion of the incomplete lineal family is 28.29%. A high proportion of the incomplete lineal family is found in Shijiazhuang, Hengshui, Chengde. The proportion of the flowing family is 26.61%. A high proportion of the flowing lineal family is found in Shijiazhuang, Xingtai, Hengshui, Cangzhou, Chengde, Tangshan. The proportion of lineal family with throwback is 2.1%. A high proportion of the lineal family with throwback is found in Tangshan.
