A Study Of American Female Secretary Of State At The Turn Of The Century

With the development of industrialization, democracy, and the awareness of women’s rights, Great changes have taken place on the status of women in the United States. Instead of just playing a role in the family or factories, more and more women showed up in the field of science, politics, etc. They gradually come out from the narrow space and have a chance to reach out the world. In the 20th century, there were three women appointed as the secretary of state of the United States, which broke male monopoly in this field, and had a great influence to the United States’ diplomacy. The paper will compare the three secretaries of state from the aspects of their growth experiences, education backgrounds and political careers.
