Research On The "Garage Old Man" Phenomenon From The Perspective Of Space

With the accelerated Rural reconstruction process of our country, the peasants" go upstairs"movement is in full swing in the country. The land of village community is expropritaed by the government,the peasants lose their land that they live on,due to land acquisition, the new group of landless peasants is born. Old landless peasants become the special social groups, long time rural life experience make them more dependent on land,houses, rural life-style.This study take a rural village that has encountered the policy of land acquisition and demolition in Southwest of Shandong Province,with the research methods of Field investigation, field interview and literature analysis,it based on the changes of village inhabited environments and the change of the old farmers identity,To explore the new problems that the old group of peasants faced which in intergenerational relations and family structure.This thesis is consists of five sections,the part one is the introduction, it describes the origin of this study and reviews previous studies,In addition, it briefly explains the research methods and the field site. Chapterl is described from three aspects,"The last generation of traditional mother-in-law" reveals that the old people in rural areas are not the symbol of authority in the traditional folk society, the traditional concept of "the Children take after parent" is gradually weakening.Chapter2 describes the elderly events in the residential areas and the old landless farmers’ life-style changes after demolition and resettlement.Chapter3 also described from three aspects,the decline of the authority status of the old people,the vanishing village,the loss of home experience,that interpretations confusion and distress of life of the landless old peasants.At last, the research come to conclusion that Old landless farmers as a group of transformation in the process of modernization,after their "home" become into "the abstract space",the identity change for "landless farmers", the old people are placed in an extremely unfavorable position.
