Preliminary Study On Stalin’s Thought Of People’s Livelihood

Stalin is one historical figure who has played a significant role in the human history and the development of the socialist. During his ruling, he has made a series of reforms in such aspects as political, economic system, and cultural education system, which made the rehabilitation and development of the Soviet economy, consolidated and improved the politics, guaranteed and improved people’s living, and substantially increased Soviet’s international status. As one Soviet Socialist leader, Stalin is very concerned about people’s livelihood issues and during the process of developing and improving people’s livelihood, Stalin has formed a unique livelihood construction thought. For instance, in the aspect of the economic construction, he attaches more importance to the economic infrastructure construction, carrying out the agricultural collectivization movement and the industrialization movement; he gives priority to develop the heavy industry, realizing industrialization rapidly, which effectively improved people’s living standards and the infrastructure construction of people’s living and provided material basis for Soviet’s livelihood construction. In terms of the political construction, the high centralization of power wins a great victory in the anti-fascist war, consolidating the world’s first socialist country, which provides political guarantee for people’s livelihood construction of the socialist Soviet Union and also lets the world see Soviet’s unique success in people’s livelihood construction; in the aspect of culture, nation, and education, he actively carries out the construction of socialist culture and nation, and socialist education in all directions, which provides strong support of culture, technology, and human resources for Soviet’s livelihood construction, and ensured the social stability and prosperity.The limitations of Stalin’s livelihood Thought is also very obvious. For example, in the aspect of the economic construction, the highly centralized planned economy results in a lack of market dynamism, which cannot mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of local areas, enterprises, and individuals. Attention of the accumulation and despising of the consumption, paying more importance to the heavy industry, especially the military enterprise, and ignoring the development strategy of the light industry which is related to people’s daily life have resulted the depression of the economic projects which are related to the livelihood construction. In terms of the political construction, the party on behalf of the government and the confusion of the party and the government, and strict hierarchy firmly bounds democratic rights of basic mass, which makes people’s voice of the needs of the livelihood cannot be expressed adequately. In the field of the ideological and cultural education, a high degree of unity of ideology and culture system is carried out, completely ignoring the needs of working people in the ideological and cultural fields, which strangles the people’s new expectations and creativity for a better life.Stalin’s livelihood thought has made great achievements for Soviet’s livelihood construction, which makes the socialist Soviet union fallen on its feet in a sea of capitalism, and achieves the great victory of the great patriotic war, thus makes the socialist system spread from one country to multinational, which lays the basis for the socialist camp having power to oppose the capitalist system. But Stalin’s serious mistakes of people’s livelihood thought have given way for the drastic changes in Eastern Europe and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.At present; there are a lot of articles of the domestic and foreign studies, which have evaluated of Stalin model, while there is still a vacancy in evaluating Stalin’s people’s livelihood Thought.This paper attempts to arrange the system of Stalin’s people’s livelihood thought from Stalin’s writings and the related materials. In the introduction part, this article first analyzes the research background and meaning of Stalin’s livelihood Thought, and then summarizes the research status of Stalin’s model and Stalin’s livelihood Thought, and finally presents the research ideas, research methods as well as innovations and shortcomings of this paper. The first chapter of this paper first elaborates the theoretical basis and historical background of Stalin’s livelihood thought, of which Marx and Engels’ People’s view of life is the theoretical basis of Stalin’s livelihood thought and Lenin’s livelihood thought during and after the war is the direct source for Stalin’s livelihood thought. Stalin’s livelihood thought is formed in the background of the serious injury of the world’s livelihood and the tortuous development of socialist construction in the Soviet Union early stage. The second chapter discusses the main content of Stalin’s livelihood Thought in details, which shines mainly in agricultural collectivization and industrialization of the Soviet economic development, in the political construction of stabilizing the socialist regime and developing socialist values, and in the development of the socialist culture, nation and educational career. The third chapter analyzes and summarizes Stalin’s livelihood thought from economic, political, cultural and educational aspects, and draws inspiration from Stalin’s livelihood Thought for our country’s livelihood Thought, i.e., adhering to Marx’s people subject thought is the precondition of socialist people’s livelihood construction. The stable political environment is an important guarantee for socialist livelihood construction, and the steady economic development is a powerful driving force for socialist people’s livelihood construction. In order to solve the socialist people’s livelihood problems, more importance should be attached to the social cultural construction. At last, in the concluding section of this paper, this paper gives serious summary and reflection, pointing out that the aim of researching Stalin’s people’s livelihood thought is to inherit critically, so as to promote the livelihood construction of our country’s socialist modernization, early realize the Chinese dream of national prosperity, national rejuvenation, and people’s happiness. However, because of the limited individual energy and shallow learning, this paper has shortcomings in terms of its system and discussion, which need to better in future studies.
