The separation of moral awareness and behavior refers to that moral awareness does not lead to behavior. It is an important issue in the moral theory and practice. Will is the intermediate link between moral awareness and moral behavior. It has decision function and executive function. From this perspective, the separation of moral awareness and behavior can be divided into two categories:in the decision-making process of will or in the the execution of will.Separation of moral awareness and behavior in the decision-making process of will refers to this:individuals decide to behave against their own moral awareness for other considerations. In this case,we call it intentional separation of moral awareness and behavior. The reason for this phenomenon is that individuals behave for the consideration of their own interests, the impact of pluralistic value standard and their negative attitudes toward morality, etc.Separation of moral awareness and behavior in the the execution of will refers to this:individuals do or give up something unwillingly. In this case,we call it irresistible separation of moral awareness and behavior. It mainly involves the moral "weakness of will" issue. The lack of individuals`own ability, the tension between current appetence and rationality`s futurity, realistic situational factors lead to this phenomenon.Meanwhile, intentional separation of moral awareness and behavior is that individuals behave from their own will. This shows human`s dignity and the dignity of free will;but on the other hand, this freedom can fall into subjective arbitrary willfulness at the same time. And the free will reflecting from this kind of separation of moral awareness and behavior is ontology. We can make it reality under the guidance of Marxism on free will.
