A Research On The Contents And Approaches Of Cultivating The Core Values Of The Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers

Cultivating the core values of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers, which,advanced by Hu Jintao, the former chairman of the Central Military Commission, is the inevitable demand of building a revolutionary, standard and modern army. It’s one of the most important steps to realize the dream of a strong military. In November 2014, Xi Jinping emphasized in the army political work conference that four fundamental things, namely, the ideological beliefs, the Party spiritual principles, the standard of combat effectiveness and the political authority, must be established in the army, so that a new generation of soldiers with soul, qualification, feelings and morality will be fostered. It further clarified the direction and set up a new model for cultivating the core values of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers, therefore guided the research into deepening. In the paper, the contents and some approaches on how to cultivate the core values of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers will be discussed, aiming at making further research on some theoretical questions related to the construction of the people’s army based on the reality. The thesis will try to get some achievements on the basis of previous research results.The challenges our army is facing now are some serious problems, such as the lack of beliefs, the vague outlook towards right and wrong, the thoughts of pursuing easy lives, the lack of sense of responsibility and dedication, etc.. All these problems will affect the construction of the army. In order to solves these problems, firstly, we should set up the basic principles of the educating activities, including the principles of subjectivity, objectivity,democracy and pertinence. In order to put these principles into practice, we should take the basic principles about values of Marxism, Chinese Socialism and the principles of army construction of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers as the theoretical foundation, and lean form the precious experiences from history.The main approach of cultivating the core value of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers is to understand deeply of the five sentences said by Chairman Hu, and to find out the inner links between these words, that is, the loyalty to the Party is the soul, the love for the People is the purpose, the render service to the country is the theme, the dedication is the inner appeal, and the pursuit for honor is the moral support. We should remember these words and get the spirit of them. The approaches of cultivating the core values of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiers include the education of theories, the construction of the circumstances, the act of molding characters, and the incentive mechanism. Among these approaches, the act of molding characters of the soldiers is the core with important meaningsand effects, on which highly attentions should be paid. The final results of the other approaches should be molding the characters and improving the level of their thinking, in order to reach the purpose of purifying, firming and practicing their political awareness.
