Study On The Development Course Of Socialist Value Outlook Since The Establishment Of People’s Republic Of China

Value is not only a theoretical issue, but a practical issue. As a kind of ideology, value has been the intellectual impetus of development for nations and countries. The study on development history of socialism values since the establishment of People’s Republic of China(PRC) contributes to further deepening the understanding of socialist society, enriching the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and impelling the harmonious development of socialism with Chinese characteristics. With the development history of socialism values since the establishment of PRC as the subject, it is divided into three historic stages and studied correspondingly according to differences of primary missions and principal contradictions in practice of Chinese socialism.The first stage was the socialism value from 1949 to 1977, during which the socialism value mainly emphasized on serving the people, developing the productive forces and eradicating poverty as well as cultivating a new generation of all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique in socialist society.The second stage was the socialism value from 1978 to 2012. Since the implementation of opening-up policy in 1978, the Communist Party of China(CPC) has been drawing lessons from the past and shifting CPC’s working focus to socialist economic construction. The socialism values in this period mainly focused on persistence of main body status of the masses, maintenance of social equality and achievement of people of all-round development, enriching the idea of socialism values.The third stage is the socialism value after 2012. Experiencing the reform and opening-up policy of about thirty years, China has entered the hard time and deep end of the reform. The Communist Party of China(CPC) strengthens the impacts of the mainstream ideology and puts forward to the core values of socialism with Chinese characteristics, which include three levels—the national level, the social level and the individual level. This is a great innovation for exploring Chinese socialism values and it also starts a new chapter for constructing socialism values. The development history of socialism values is reviewed systematically as well as the methodological and historical implications of constructing socialism values are summarized in this paper. For the one thing, socialism values require Chinese characteristics, characteristics of the times and world vision; for another thing, socialism values are required to insist on Marxist guiding thought, form common ideals and spiritual support throughout society, treat the excellent culture achievements in China and abroad correctly and meet the requirements of the people based on the reality of domestic economic and social development.
