The United States of America is an extremely important country in international politics; every move she makes affects other countries’political decision-making. Since the US Government statements and actions are driven by its national profits and domestic political demand. The analysis of US Government’s domestic politics will help profoundly understand the motivation of its international action. In this analysis, we can find and learn the objective laws, which will instruct us to make timely and effective countermeasures in our work. The analysis of American domestic politics includes the analysis of US presidential election’s political ethics and practice, which involves a lot of factors in the process of presidential election. For example, campaign finance, electorate’s voting activities, presidential candidate’s action and mass media should be discussed and analyzed.Mass media, one of the factors, that affects US presidential election. It has made an enormous difference for more than a decade. With the upgrade of digital technology, internet technology and mobile communication technology, cell phone, digital television and new generation of mass media have come to our daily life and been received as part of our life. In this fast developing world, mass media is increasingly eye-catching in the field of politics. People’s attitude towards the function of mass media in electoral politics has shifted from doubt and uncertainty to partial affirmation. Over the past few years more and more scholars take to mass media research and in 2016 the US presidential election is no doubt a live case for our research. The 2016 US presidential election is impressive because the war (presidential election) is waged between several men and a woman, besides; all of the presidential candidates take new media as their weapons and tools to fight against each other and court voter’s support. In contrast with traditional media, the new media is showing its edges like it has never done before.This paper employs content analysis method to testify the great influence of new media on campaign fund, candidate’s political marketing, voter’s political behavior and relevant electoral system. This paper will closely observe how the new media exert its influence in the 2016 US Presidential Election. Meanwhile, the last part of this thesis singles out Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Announcement for further discussion.
