With the rise of China’s comprehensive national strength, China’s international status has improved rapidly. However, with the rapid rise of comprehensive national strength what is not directly proportional is the national image of China has not been improved accordingly. Therefore, the role of public diplomacy to enhance the image of China is becoming increasingly important. At the same time, the arrival of the new media era provides a very effective tool and path for the promotion and development of public diplomacy. This article will analyze the current situation of the use of new media in China’s public diplomacy, the impact of new media on China’s public diplomacy, how to face the problems and challenges of China’s public diplomacy in the new media era, China’s public diplomacy should be resolved how to use the new media for China’s diplomatic service.This paper is the study of Chinese public diplomacy in the era of new media. This paper further combined with the effective use of new media in public diplomacy, combined with the practical experience of China’s public diplomacy in the early twenty-first Century. This paper analyze, research, demonstration on the application of new media in China’s public diplomacy. This paper not only relates to the theoretical interpretation of public diplomacy, but also related to the application of new media in China’s public diplomacy; not only the impact of new media on China’s public diplomacy, but also the case of new media use; not only the plight of the new media use of public diplomacy in China, but also related to the use of new media to promote public diplomacy.Specifically, the relevant research on the use of new media in China’s public diplomacy is carried out according to the following:The first chapter is about the concepts and theories of public diplomacy and new media. In this chapter, according to the theory of public diplomacy, communication and international relations, this chapter explains and illustrates the public diplomacy and the new media.The second chapter is the application of new media in China’s public diplomacy, mainly involved in the concrete practice of China’s public diplomacy, the necessary explanation and analysis of the new media application of public diplomacy. Including the rise of the use of new media in China’s public diplomacy, the reasons and paths, and combined with the practice of public diplomacy to explain the case.The third chapter is the dual influence of the new media on China’s public diplomacy, new media related to the active promotion of China’s public diplomacy, the reverse role of the new media in the public diplomacy of china. Among them, actively promote the part, involving the main body of public diplomacy, scope and other aspects of the analysis; Reverse role is involved in the use of public diplomacy new media problems and challenges.The fourth chapter discusses the plight of the use of new media in China’s public diplomacy, mainly includes the subject, the audience and the mechanism and so on. Through the analysis of these problems, this paper puts forward some suggestions to deal with the problem.The fifth chapter puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the application of new media in China’s public diplomacy, which is the feedback to the research questions of this paper. The corresponding suggestions related to the implementation of public diplomacy, supervision and other related countermeasures.China’s public diplomacy practice in the new media era, the Chinese government needs to pay more attention to the role of new media and the implementation of the promotion of China’s comprehensive national strength.
