Camus’ s The Stranger which is a philosophic novel contains rich themes, and absurd whose meaning of jurisprudence is critical rationalism, is considered as the theme in general. Analyzing the text can lead us to know about the structure of the novel and then approach to the theme gradually just like what Sartre once said that The Stranger is the feeling of the absurd, but Camus just describe without interpreting. He just give you a feeling of absurd instead of answers, because an absurd person has no answer, thus we can understand the way of Meursault’s life through the theme. Related to the background of the times and the writer, Camus’ s message is explicit: shaping a hero like Meursault, he wanted to inspire people at that time when The World War Ⅱ had changed the tradition of rationalism and people’s life. As we all know, Meursault was tried for murder, but he was sentenced to death owing to moral issues. Explaining the trail part of the novel on Foucault’s theory will show us how the modern judicial process to suppress humanity by a series of technologies and procedures. In the end, we can conclude the possibility of existentialism law.
