Anthropological Explaination And Study To The Ritual Therapy Of DAI People In Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China

The medicine is not only a applied science from the perspective of biology, but also a culture in the aspect of anthropology. The ritual treatment of DAI is one kind of folk medical treatment behavior which is produced in the context of local religious culture and has been spread to the present. According to the investigate about the ritual treatment of Dai nationality in Xishuangbanna in the perspective of medical anthropology,This article take the ritual treatment practice and the village landscape interpretation of villagers in Mangangjing as a clue, which Interprete the ritual treatment culture of Dai from the aspects of Dai People’s body concept, the cause of the disease, the treatment choice, the ritual treatment mechanism and the other aspects of the ritual treatment of Dai culture, and further explain the relationship between disease treatment and culture and society. Finally,this article put forward the practical significances of ritual treatment to modern society.The dissertation consists of 3 parts:the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.The introduction presents the meaning of the theme, related research trends, research theory and methods. The first chapter introduces the natural environment and social-cultural background of Xishuangbanna, the medical background of Mangangjing Village, the choice of medical way of villagers and so on. In the second chapter, on the basis of the field investigation, the paper makes a brief analysis and classification of the cases of ritual treatment in Mangangjing. The third chapter mainly carries on the explanation to the Dai ritual treatment culture connotation mainly from the cause of the Dai people self interpretation;the identity ceremony of the participants of the ritual treatment; the causes of the existence of the ritual treatment; the relationships of disease, ritual treatment and the social-culture of the Dai; the practical significance of ritual treatment. The conclusion part summarizes the main points of the this dissertation.The ritual treatment of the Dai nationality is the cultural accumulation which is the experienc of thousands of years of the Dai people in solving life and health problems.It is an important part of the Dai medical culture, which has profound cultural connotation.Treatment of ceremony explains the cause of disease and treates diseases in a supernatural way.This is in line with the social culture of the Dai nationality.The formation and development of ritual treatment are closely related to the local religious belief and the social culture of the Dai nationality.The ritual treatment not only has the effect of curing the disease to the individual, but also has the social significance, at the same time, it has many merits to be worth the modern medical treatment.
