The Study On Social Integration Of Floating People

Since the 1980s,the floating people of our country have made outstanding contribution for the urbanization process. At the meantime, their obvious problems in city have attracted wide attention of the whole society, especially the obstacles of city integration. It blocks not only the development of the floating people in city, but also our country’s new-type urbanization. Thus, this article carries out a series of researches.Basing on literature reading, questionnaire analysis and interview, this article proposes a hypothesis that the rural-urban migrants have integrate difficulties in city. To proving the hypothesis, the article uses the data-mining software to analyze the social integrate condition of the floating people on the foundation of constructing an indicator system, and then draw a conclusion that the migrants do have severe difficulties on city integration.The article then profiles the causes deeply. Objectively, it mainly results from the dual social and economic structure, which is the core and fundamental reason. In addition, social systems and rejection from citizens also cause the city integration difficulties; subjectively, the narrow social circle of the migrants, their lack of quality and the weak willingness also lead to rough integration. Aiming at the causes of the social integrate difficulties, the article puts forward six coping strategies, through which it can help promoting the floating people integrate into the urban society more smoothly.The analysis and discussion on floating people’s social integration in Changshu has significant sense to this area both in theory and reality. Furthermore, it’s instructive and inspired to other areas of our country.
