Deng Xiaoping’s Thought Of National Unity And Its Value To The Political Integration In Multi-national Region

As a significant portion of Deng Xiaoping national theory the national unity thought is one of the important theoretical achievements of Marxism in China. Our country is a classic multi-national country and Deng Xiaoping’s national unity theory has significantly promoted the construction of our multi-national country and the political integration process in the multi-national region. The political integration in multi-national region is a process and a mechanism which brings all kinds of dispersed ethic groups into one political system and guarantees the political system work smoothly. In today’s world, every multi-national region needs to take advantage of the political integration to promote political stability as well as the sustainable development, and the national unity is also the measure of the political integration degree in multi-national region. Deng Xiaoping’s national unity theory not only has guided our country’s national unity cause, promoted the political integration, but also is of great significance to the political integration of the multi-national region in the world.This paper started with the theoretical origin of Deng Xiaoping’s national unity thought, illustrated the national unity thoughts of Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Mao Zedong, clarified the theory inheritance relationship between Deng Xiaoping’s national unity thought and the Marxism national unity thought as well as straightened out the theory source of Deng Xiaoping’s national unity thought.Secondly, this paper discussed the political, economic as well as the cultural backgrounds of the formation and completion of Deng Xiaoping’s national unity. It’s under the historical background of the socialist modernization with the reform and opening up policy that Deng Xiaoping’s national unity thought accurately grasped the national relationship’s historical background and characteristics of the times in respects of politics, economics as well as culture.What’s more, the paper systematically illustrated the rich content of Deng Xiaoping’s national unity thought. Firstly, about the connotation of national unity, Deng Xiaoping indicated the new type of socialism national relationship, stated the national unity on the economic development foundation from the essence of socialism and proposed the idea of ’ Chinese Nation Unity ’. Secondly, about the significance of the national unity, Deng Xiaoping has mentioned several times that the national unity is not only the requirement for assuring social stability and maintaining national reunification, is also an important condition for realizing socialist modernization. Thirdly, about the realization approach of national unity, Deng Xiaoping thought that the national unity must be finally realized by eliminating national misunderstanding, publicizing the four cardinal principles and realizing common prosperity.Finally, this paper analyzed the values of Deng Xiaoping’s national unity thought for the political integration in multi-national region. It is helpful to promote the construction of the political integration in multi-national region with the concept of equality and identity, to promote the inner integration of multi-national region with the economic development and national consciousness, to promote the political integration among ethnic groups with the common interests, stabilization, development as well as the correct handling of the inter-ethnic group, and also is helpful to promote the national conformity by national construction and giving full play of the ruling party.
