At the beginning of the 21 st century, due to China’s rapid economic growth, the level of medical technology has become more sophisticated. Using more advanced medical equipment, the level of hospital care has greatly improved. Before this time, there was a rare occurrence of “medical trouble”, however, over the last decade, the tense relationship between doctors and patients has intensified. On one hand, the patient has lost trust in doctors when the treatment results do not meet expectations. After a medical dispute, if the situation is not serious, often doctors and patients can resolve their differences through consultation.Litigation is also available to resolve these disputes. During the last ten years, the country has also seen an increase in the occurrence of third-party medical dispute mediation. Concerning the handling of medical disputes, much progress has been made due to the experience that has been gained, and now sound advice can be given to help resolve these disputes. As a result, the tension between doctors and patients is less and good relations have been restored. The goal is to establish good compensation for health care workers, maintain the health care interest of patients, and allow doctors to practice medicine in an environment that contributes to the construction of a harmonious society.
