Geopolitical situation in a modern world is characterized by increasing contradictions in historical, economical, social and political development of the states. In the conditions of modern trends to globalization inevitably arise many clashes in foreign policy, as well as clashes of social and cultural values inside any state. In the worst case scenario those clashes evolve into long-term international conflicts which are destabilizing economy, political system and even universal human values and the principles of humanism and morality. Need for protection from that kind of situations has become the main reason for growing of global society interests to the ensuring international and national security questions in XXI century. To the systems oriented to provide protection to the society from any threats whether it is natural cataclysms; technological disaster; international conflicts or international terrorism. Russian society which has survived through many political and economical upheavals for the last 25 years is now facing to this kind of threats in all spheres of its life. Russia is a country with unique system of internal multinational relations where are closely connected the questions of big and small nation?s cultural heritage and legacy protection, which appears to be a great vulnerability for integrity of national unity of the state. And the historical background of Russia also makes relations with the countries of the former Soviet Union even more unique. Unfortunately, those relations are tested by clashes of political interests, international conflicts and crimes.This situation makes negative influence not only on the further development of foreign political relations with international society, but also on overall moral, cultural and social development of the Russian society. An ability to ensure military and legal security in all levels of social development from the internal and external threats is a common commitment of all world states. Only that states which are protected in all aspects of life could ensure peace and security of the global society without any violations of national and international law principles.The relevance of this research is determined by theoretical and practical significance of questions dedicated to national security ensuring issues in the Russian state and its influence on political and social development under current peripheral conflicts. National security and its legal ensuring is one of the most important questions in Russian judicial science. Since dynamic and systematic development of the any state and society is possible only when they are in secure the ensuring national security is also becoming one of the most important objectives of the Russian state in foreign and national policy as well.This paper is a comprehensive monographic study on national security ensuring issues in Russia in the condition of escalating tensions in peripheral conflicts; increasing of numbers of internal and external threats and their negative influence on the Russian state commonwealth. New threats to Russian national security are raising new conditions to the system of ensuring national security which could not only be able to instantly react on all kind of threats, but also to prevent them.This research work consists of an introduction; three chapters; conclusion; the list of references and acknowledgments. Each chapter is divided to several paragraphs.The second chapter represents an examination of fundamental theories of national security phenomena and its evolution in judicial science; the development of the Russian national security ensuring legal aspects and analysis on basic conceptions and strategies with legal basis of the Russian Federation normative documents.The third chapter consists of brief overview on events and analysis of legal aspects of Russian-Georgian conflict of 2008 and Russian-Ukrainian conflict of 2014.Chapter four is examine further development of the questions of ensuring Russian national security in area of strategic planning by consideration of warning risks and threats and practical evaluation of Russian national security and foreign policy effectiveness.Undoubtedly, the questions of ensuring national security and providing protection of strategic interests and interests of people are priorities of political course of the any state. Methods and measures to achieve the goals could be different and numerous, but more important here is legality of those methods and measures so that they never violated any principles of international law and morality. As a conclusion author gives a suggestions for further development of national security in Russia based on a results of this research.
