The Contribution Of Fujian Overseas Chinese To The Development Of Education And Technology In Their Hometown

When it comes to the relations between Overseas Chinese and Mainland China, the contribution of Overseas Chinese on China’s economic take off since 1978 have been the focus of most research scholars. While this dissertation attempts to analyze and explore the role and effect of Overseas Chinese on cultural exchange between China and foreign countries. This dissertation selects the Fujian Overseas Chinese as a typical case. Through a lot of fieldwork in Fujian, it makes an thorough analyze on the Fujian Overseas Chinese and the development of education and technology in their hometown in Fujian.Full text was divided into three parts:introduction, main body and conclusion. In the first chapter, it introduces the cause, academic review and definition of nouns. The main body contains three chapters: the second chapter focuses on the role of Overseas Chinese in international cultural exchange from the perspective of international relation. Then it leads to the subject of this dissertation: the Fujian Overseas Chinese and the development of education and technology in Fujian since 1978. The third chapter analyzes how the Fujian Overseas Chinese contributed to the education modernization of Fujian.The forth chapter focuses on the Fujian Overseas Chinese and technology innovations in their hometown. Then it makes the conclusion about how to promote Sino-foreign cultural exchange with the help of Overseas Chinese.There are two special points in this dissertation. Firstly, by doing a lot of fieldwork in several major motherland of Oversea Chinese in Fujian, this dissertation shows us the role of Overseas Chinese in Fujian’s education modernization and technology innovation with considerable convincing data. Secondly, this dissertation analyzes the relation of Fujian Overseas Chinese and their motherland from the perspective of Sino-foreign cultural exchange and makes some further recommendations on the relation between Overseas Chinese and International Relation.
