After 1950s, with the development of technology and the intensification of international competition, many developed countries like America, Britain, Australia, South Korea, Japan and Singapore and so on began to implement biology curriculum reform one after another. China started its eighth curriculum reform in basic education in order to keep pace with the other countries in the 21st century:Guangdong, Shandong, Hainan and Ningxia first began their high school new curriculum reform in 2004 and Hubei also lauched the reform in the autumn of 2009. Biology curriculum reform in China is being promoted and has got some achievement at the moment.The National College Entrance Exam, which is the most influential and authorative exam of selecting excellent people, is a significant method of evaluation in biology education and has great influence on secondary school biology teaching. Besides, it is a key factor determining the development of biology curriculum reform. At present, the National College Entrance Exam is the main evaluation index of high school biology teaching.Biology is a subject based on experiment. In recent years, experiment tasks take up a larger and larger part of the biology paper in the National College Entrance Exam. In recent five years, the national and Guangdong papers have both emphasized the testing of students’abilities of comprehension, experiment operating, experiment design and analysis about the results and language skill, while the Guangdong papers attach great importance to students’research ability. This indicates that to cater to the new curriculum reform is a trend in the reform of the National College Entrance Exam papers. This paper studies the score allocation, the distribution of tested points and requirements on students’ability in the national and Guangdong biology papers in recent five years. Similarities and differences between them are summarized. Based on these, suggestions about high school biology teaching and preparation for the experiment tasks in the National College Entrance Exam papers under the new curriculum reform are given.According to the comparisons and based on the current situation of our nation’s biology new curriculum reform, the following suggestions about high school biology experiment teaching have been put forward:changing teaching believes and promoting experiment teaching; taking advantage of demonstrative experiment to develop students’ observing ability; changing confirmatory experiment into exploring ones in order to develop students’experiment design ability; attaching importance to experiment results and developing students’ability of analysing the results; diversifying the model of experiment teaching so as to develop students’creativity; setting a system of experiment evaluation to promote students’experiment ability. Suggestions on preparation for the experiment tasks in National College Entrance Exam biology papers have also been brought up:fully comprehending of the experiment content and requirements on students’experiment ability in the syllabus; valuing reviews of the experiments in text books; digging out the experimental elements involved in the text books’knowledge points; redoing some classical experiments and paying close attention to trends in the testing of experiments.
