Textbooks are the hypostatic form of curriculum standards and the carrier which can help students achieve the three objectives:knowledge and skills, procedures and methods, attitudes and values. Textbooks can provide information resources and examples for students’ learning. They can also promote the change of learning styles and form scientific values. Researching the textbooks can help teachers change their minds from "teaching textbooks" to "teaching using textbooks". It can also be in favor of the selection, exploitation, using and evaluation for textbooks. It can help teachers comprehend the curriculum standards.Three kinds of chemical textbooks in china and 《CHEMISTRY:Concepts and Application》 in America are the objects of this study. This article analyses the exhibiting ways of factual knowledge, theoretical knowledge and knowledge about technical abilities. And it compares the textbooks in China with the ones in America from three aspects. This article comes to some concludes and some inspirations. The experiments in textbooks should be openly appeared properly and closely connect with life. And the teachers should study the textbooks actively and make full use of the resources in textbooks.
