China is now facing globalization; meanwhile the great economic recession hasincreasingly affected the whole trend of china. The situation both home and abroadappears a risky game, safety maintenance has already been on top agenda of thegovernment. At the same time, youth are the most important group in their eyes. Newmedia are widely regarded as the rallying horn of social mobilization and publicopinion. Whatever the sky-price-cigar-director, watch uncle, house uncle, or the mostpowerful lady of General Staff Department of Chinese people’s Liberation Army, orVANCL style, loser, Yuanfang, what’s your opinion? and the latest style feel verymoved at first but finally refuse the request, the youth resistance is becoming moreand more unexpected. All these events are actually rooted and then growing in subcultural atmosphere. As a platform of public opinion, sina weibo owns more than halfof all weibo users, and its major group is consisted of youth. Considering its powerfulinfluence among Chinese youth, sina weibo is taken as the case in this article.The article is based on the theories of Birmingham School, which had deeplyresearched on the subculture since1950s. In this essay, the generation of subculturewill be analyzed in details,especially on the platform of weibo on the case of "nationalblanket——old youth" and"Gangnam style——R&B in globalization times".It attempts to analyze sub culture on sina weibo and by virtue of this, the relationbetween subculture and mainstream culture can to some degree be improved. It’sinclined to establish an effective communication channel between subculture andmainstream. Therefore, the subculture may be led in the healthy direction.
