University teacher-student relationship has always been one of the most basic andthe most important part in the education activities, it is obvious to find its prominentplace. Good university teacher-student-relationship will not only help to improve thestudents’ interpersonal communication abilities and lay solid foundation for the complexsocial interaction, but also help to shape their perfect personality, and promote theirquality during growing-up. At the same time, the good relationship between teachers andstudents of the university plays a decisive role to the development of higher educationand university construction. But at present, the current situation of universityteacher-student-relationship is worrying, problems emerging endlessly in the four aspectsof equality, freedom, democracy and harmony, which seriously affects the healthydevelopment of university and the joint development between teachers and students.Through the theoretic and the practical exploration, embarking on the actual situation,this article puts forward to build a new relationship between teachers and students in theuniversity, namely, equality, freedom, democracy, harmonious relationship betweenteachers and students of university. The study is mainly discussed from the followingaspects:The first part concludes the research questions, its theoretic and practicalsignificance, research review at home and abroad, research methods and ideas. Byexplaining the necessity, importance and feasibility of the teacher-student relationship inour universities, the article proposes that it is urgent to establish a new type of universityteacher-student-relations.The second part explains the concept and the theoretical basis of universityteacher-student-relationship, peeping on the theoretical way to build a new university relationship between teachers and students in equality, freedom, democracy, andharmonious aspects.The third part analyses the present situation and potential problems of universityteacher-student-relationship from the practical way, further reflects the urgency of thestudy.The fourth part finds the reason of the problems listed above, objectively analyzesvarious factors of the problems from the macro and micro level.The fifth part proposes to how to build the new relationship between teachers andstudents of university in China from the aspects of idea, system, and environment.Finally, in the conclusion part, the thesis is summarized, and the shortcomings ofthe study and the prospect for future development are listed.Theteacher-student-relationship is still one of the hot issues and the crucial part ineducational area; on the other hand, how to construct the new type universityteacher-student relationship for the sustainable development of education in our countrywill become the eternal pursuit.
