An Empirical Research Of The Implementation Of The IAAF Kid’s Athletic Project In Lanzhou City

Along with the deepening reform of the new physical education curriculum, the schoolsports teaching shows its diversified development, therefore, it is necessary and imminent forteachers and educators to learn new teaching methods and teaching concept. The track andfield, as a traditional sport, paid too much attention to skill teaching and ignored both thedevelopment of students’ health of body and the cultivation of interest in sports, which madethe track teaching lose its weight and face the challenges. Although our country hasimplemented a series of reform measures, so far elementary student’s physical qualityproblems in our country has not been completely solved and it is still a major problem inschool sports. Those kinds of problems have exerted serious influence upon the developmentof athletics events and school physical education. In2000, the LAFF, in order to make thetrack and filed play a better role in the process of promoting children’s healthy and mind andto let more children to participate in athletics, launched “IAAF Kid’s Athletic " by the meanof group competition, entertaining and interesting.This paper takes the Implementation of the IAAF Kidˊs Athletic Project in Lanzhoucity of Gansu province as its topic, and takes8experimental schools of Lanzhou city whichcarry out the IAAF Children’s Athletic Project as the research objects, and takes physicaleducation teachers, students and parents as its research object of investigation and interview.The author also took a field observation personal in the Chengguan primary school inYongdeng County in a week. By using the method of questionnaire investigation, expertinterview, field observation method and using the mathematical statistics and logic analysis tosurvey data for statistical analysis, the empirical research has gained the followingconsequences:1.The IAAF Kid’s Athletic’s promote universal access is not good in Lanzhou city.2.The equipment of The IAAF Kid’s Athletic is very popular with teachers and studentslove,but they can not meet the demands of teaching.3.The textbook of The IAAF Kid’s Athletic can not meet the demands of teaching.4.It is very important for training the instructors of The IAAF Kid’s Athletic,but the timeis too short and too few times.5.The number of The IAAF Kid’s Athletic games and competitions too little tocommunication and study each other.6.The school leaders, teachers and students are all very seriously about The IAAF Kid’sAthletic,but the parents is not.7.The development of The IAAF Kids Athletic in laboratory school in Lanzhou is a mereformality.
