In the present English teaching, the main teaching contents are listening, speaking,reading and writing. Among them, writing is a skill of comprehensive ability for students. Inthe process of learning and teaching in Junior Middle School, most teachers and learnershaven’t realized the importance of the errors occur in English writing. It leads to theunsatisfied level of English writing in Junior Middle School. In the basic requirements of theEnglish Curriculum Standard for Chinese Middle School Students (<Standard>) made byMinistry of Education, there are nine ranks from different grades and level. The level forJunior Middle School graduates is Level Five. In this level, it makes basic requirements forstudents’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing. But, there are only a few studentscan achieve this level for the students who are in the important stage of Middle School. In theprocess of English teaching in junior three, teachers always meet kinds of errors made bystudents inevitably. Most of these errors occur in students’ English writing. Nowadays, thereare lots of studies on the errors occur in English writing of second language learners. But,studies on writing errors in junior three are limited.Based on the theories of Error Analysis, Contrastive Analysis and Interlanguage, thisstudy tries to make an analysis on errors occur in English writing in junior three. This thesistakes the students from Xiping Middle School, Tianshui, as the research subjects, somewriting materials and an interview as the main instrument. The author chooses forty students(junior three) from Class Three and Class Four, and makes some writing tests on them. Then,the author makes an analysis on the errors occur in the samples. As a result, the main forms oferrors in samples are interlingual and intralingual errors. The author tries to find out the maincauses of errors through analysis. And then, the author puts forward some suggestions, hopingto help teachers improve the English writing teaching in junior three.Through the study on error analysis in junior three students’ English Writing, the authorgot some relevant results. But, due to the limitation from various aspects, this study still needsto be improved at a deeper level.
