Since the reform and opening up with the accelerated process of urbanization, urban Hui population because of their have the national culture and nationalconsciousness of genes, making its population distribution evolution is relativelycomplex, become the focus of city facing problem. Lanzhou City as a typical centerurban of Hui population in northwest, and it has a good "window effect." tounderstand the change regularity Hui population for city of northwest and China. Inthis paper, based on data of China’s population censuses of3thto6th, analyzes theevolution characteristics of the spatial distribution of Hui population and its impactmechanism and social response in Lanzhou. The results showed that:(1)The Hui population keep growing in Lanzhou, but the growth rate ofpopulation has gradually slowed down. The population growth difference amongmunicipal districts is significant, and the street population gap has been widening yearby year. The overall trend of Hui population distribution shows"double columnarpeak body"space structure, and the population changes tend to become coexistenceof"centripetal gather"and"outward diffusion". The geopolitical structureevolves from the dwelling around the mosque into the dwelling near the mosque, andthe social structure evolves from" intensely segregated" into" relativelyintegration". The spatial distribution of the Hui population between neighborhoodsshowed a strong correlation, and the spatial concentration trend strengthened.Population spatial structure is relatively stable. Hot spots is located in the old city, andexpand the scope extends to the east-west direction, but the transition was notapparent phenomenon. Cold spots is located in the old city periphery. Its scope isgradually shrinking and westward shift, and they are distributed in the Anning andXigu areas. The spatial distribution of the Hui population growth rate betweenneighborhoods showed a weak positive correlation, Population growth pattern islikely to be more stochastic and unstable. The growth hotspots range continues toshrink and located on the edge of the city, four are distributed. The growth cold spotmainly locate in the old city, expanding the scope, there are five blocks remainunchanged. The Hui population diversity is increasing, due to spatial correlation structural differentiation is more and more significantly, and the range of spatialcorrelation effects is increasing, radiation effect enhancement. Reduce the degree ofhomogeneity of the population, what population distribution east-west directionspatial heterogeneity is smaller. The spatial self-organization gradually increased Huipopulation, and distribution patterns show great similarity and regularity trend ofdevelopment.(2)The main factors of the spatial distribution of Hui population evolution arehistory and politics, population growth and migration, industrialization andurbanization, ethnic identity and cohesion and urban construction and urban planning. The historical and political factors lay the basic pattern of the distribution of Huipopulation. Hui population continues to grow because of population growth, and exitssignificant difference. The great important reasons of the spatial distribution of Huipopulation evolution are migrants who move to Lanzhou from other cities and themigration of local population. Industrialization and urbanization, which make a hugeincrease in population of Hui and lead the traditional concentrated area to diversifieddevelopment at the same time, are the key factors to the spatial distribution of Huipopulation evolution. However, a strong sense of ethnic identity and cohesion of Huipopulation ensure the long-term maintained traditional pattern of "Smallconcentration", under the background of the"large dispersion". What’s more, urbanconstruction and urban planning have an impact on the dispersion and reconstructionof the Hui community, and the impact is the most direct and obvious.(3)On the basis, this paper systematically summarizes the social response thatarising from spatial evolution of the Hui population from four perspectives in whichinheriting national cultural heritage, enhancing the city inclusive, booming urbaneconomy and building a harmonious society. The Hui population control andoptimization performed against its negative response can be allocated by balancinginfrastructure, building a multicenter structure, channeling the locals acceptedNonnative Hui population and guiding outsiders adapt, expanding the industrial scaleand broaden the industrial structure and ease ethnic conflicts, strengthen nationalconsciousness, etc., to ensure that the multi-ethnic gathering urban prosperity andstable development.
