With the rapid development of education and curriculum reform, the gap betweenthe quality of teachers and the implementation of quality education requirements hasbecome pyramidally noticeable. Thus, the focus of how to improve teachers’ professionalquality has become the hot spot, and a lot of experts donate themselves to researching theapproaches and methods to teachers’ professional development. As a front-line teacher,writer is also considering the possible solution of existing problems and reasons, whichalso intends to explore ways to promote teachers’ professional development by reflectiveobservation and evaluation. As a qualitative study, the research studies the observationand evaluation activities of teaching research group in the D vocational school of Ningbo.By means of literature review, questionnaires, interview and data analysis, theinvestigation involves teacher’s basic information, reflections and development and so on.The researcher recorded the entire process to collect information and analyze how thereflective observation and evaluation strategy works.The paper aims to find out approaches to develop teachers’ professional ability viareflective observation and evaluation strategy. Therefore, this research points out teachersshould build a correctly attitude while observing and evaluating the lessons, express theirown viewpoints forwardly. Finally, it draws a conclusion that the strategy will be helpfulfor more effective class observation and evaluation, and teachers will gain experience andreflection from other teachers.This paper is divided into six chapters. It starts with confusion, and purpose of thisstudy. The second chapter is the theory of reflective teaching, principles of classobservation and evaluation, and teaching research group, and analyzes the relatedproblems widely existing in English class. In the third chapter, this paper discusses themain method, principles and process of this study. In chapter four, the data are analyzedby using percentage methods, the investigation involves teachers’ basic information,reflections, content of reflective observation and evaluation strategies and so on. Inchapter five, the paper describes how the reflective observation and evaluation strategiesinfluence the teachers and help the teachers develop their abilities. However, in the actualoperation process, they have met with many difficulties and confusion. In the last chapter,the paper draws the conclusion that the reflective observation and evaluation strategyhelp the teachers to cultivate the reflection consciousness, enrich contents, adopt variousmeans to reflect and express the power of teacher learning communities.I am looking forward to providing teachers think about their own development on reflective observation and evaluation, so as to achieve “reflect on practice”,“reflect inpractice” and “reflect for practice”, and contribute to our country’s education reform anddevelopment.
