With the rapid development of science and technology, peoplefocus more on personal quality and education aims to cultivate people.As the saying goes, education is the project of vital and lastingimportance. A good education calls for good teachers. As our societydevelops, knowledge keeps on updating. Besides, students in differentages are different in concept, ability and personal pursuit. To be aqualified teacher who meets the demands of the contemporarysociety, one must learn how to teach and how to learn, which are thetwo main aspects of reflective teaching. As many of the researchesshow, reflective teaching has a great effect on the improvement ofteachers’ teaching ability and professional development. The formulawhich Michalel l.Posner, the famous scholar of the USA pointed out isteachers’ improvement=teaching process+reflection. Since ProfessorXiong Chuanwu’s book, Reflective teaching was published in1999,more thesises and articles related to reflective teaching have showedup, which shows the importance of reflective teaching. The newcurricula have a higher requirement on Biology teachers in senior highschools. To improve their teaching ability, they are sure to learnreflective teaching.The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is about theresearch background and introduction of reflective teaching, whichaims to gather together what is going on at home and abroad. Thesecond chapter is about teachers’ development and factors whichaffect it. The third one analyzes the present situation where Biology teachers start reflective teaching. The fourth chapter introduces severalteaching models. The fifth chapter is about several approaches whichteachers carry out their reflective teaching, such as pre-class reflection,class reflection, after-class reflection, teaching observation andnetwork learning. From the second chapter to the fifth chapter is themain part of the thesis.The thesis combines the present teaching situation, which aims tothrough personal reflection clear my mind in reflective teaching,provide support for more reasonable reflective teaching later on, andimprove the teaching ability. Meanwhile I hope this thesis can serve asreference for reflective teaching, which is beneficial to teachers’ rapiddevelopment. Then they can meet the demands of the professionaldevelopment.
