Computerized accounting is an important course for accounting majors in secondary vocationalschools with its characteristics of high practicability, complicated content and strong operability. Atpresent, the teaching model of this course in secondary vocational schools is mainly the traditionalmodel, that is lecturing plus computer practice. Students, lacking learning autonomy andindependence, can not put what have learnt in the course into practice flexibly. As a result, it isdifficult to achieve the cultivating objective of the course for the students. How to protrudestudents’ prominent place, change students’ learning style has become a problem that manyaccounting teachers in secondary vocational schools have to face and solve. The case method is a teaching method in which teachers use cases, organize students to do theresearch, have the discussion and raise proposal to solve the problem. It helps students to grasp therelevant knowledge of their major, get the theoretical skills and practice their independent workingability. The case method has been widely adopted in different disciplines both home and abroad. However, it is rarely used in the teaching activities for accounting majors in secondary vocationalschools. The author adopts the method of experiment research to explore a teaching model that canimprove students leaning interest, operating skills and their learning autonomy. With constantresearch and trial, the author finds that the case method is the one in which students enjoy leaning, teachers feel relaxed and the leaning atmosphere is active. It introduces the typical and familiarcases into teaching, and integrates theories into each case. It is a good teaching method to combinetheory with practice. The thesis includes five parts. Part one presents the background information and the status quoof the research, the purpose and significance of the study, and the method applied in the research.Part two proposes the constructivist learning theory, information the processing theory and thetransfer theory as the theoretical basis of the case method after the meaning and its characteristicsof the case method are introduced. Part three constructs the course of computerized accountingbased on the case method from the following five aspects: the curriculum design, the establishmentof teaching objects, the choice of teaching contents of cases, the practice of the case method in thecourse and the assessment of the teaching effect of the case method. Part four adopts the method ofinvestigation and experiment research to test the teaching effect of the case method applied incomputerized accounting, and reaches a conclusion that the case method improves students’ achievements, cultivates their leaning interest, changes their learning habit and enhances theirleaning ability. Part five is the conclusion and prospect of the research. The author hopes that withthis research, accounting teachers in other secondary vocational schools can use this method forreference.
