The chemical reaction rate and chemical equilibrium is the important part of chemical principles. The knowledge of this part is highly logical, so it is very difficult and boring. When most of the students learn this part, they think that the knowledge is abstract and difficult to understand, difficult to remember and confusing. Through investigation, I found the difficulties that the students learn the the knowledge of this part. I tried my best to find why most of the students have the difficulties. What’s more, I found a few of targeted strategies to help student overcome the difficulties. There are four reasons why students have difficulties. Firstly, the learners have own reasons. Learners are lack of effective cognitive strategies. Learners have limitations in physical and mental development. Learners don’t have enough knowledge, and the knowledge is not systematic. The ability of learners characterizing the problems is not enough, and the students have a few of pre-scientific concepts. Secondly, Learners are lack of good chemical learning methods. In the study of chemical equilibrium, the majority of learners are using the strategy of mechanical memory. Thirdly, Learners have altitude sickness. When students study chemical equilibrium in-depth, students’ are particularly difficult to learn, and the learning is almost stagnant. Despite the learners are very hard, but the efficiency is very low. Finally, the learners do not have a variety of modes of thinking. When they are learning chemical equilibrium, learners are more dependent on the modes of thinking adopted by teachers. There are three strategies to help student overcome the difficulties. Firstly, We need to put the concept maps as a teaching tool. Secondly, Teachers use the method of scientific inquiry to help students understand the concepts. Finally, Teachers use multiple issues to teach.
