Ritual widely exists in daily life.It is not only a kind of unique cultural phenomenon, but also a kind of practical social action. Ritual is divine, dramatic, procedural anddifferent from other behavior. Ritual includes the visible and invisible elements.Objects, sounds, clothing are the visible elements while ritual theme, group aggregation andcommon emotion, common attention and common excitement are invisible elements.Ritual has the function of social integration and education. This paper is mainly about the application of ritual in social work,.At first I studythe theory of ritual in social work.In my opinion, the social work theory system iscomposed of the theory borrowed from other subjects and the theory of social work. Ritualcan be a borrowed theory and the application of ritual can be a social work skills. Ritualis feasible because it can be designed, improved and recreated according to yourneeds.Maslow believes peak experience has a therapeutic effect and the ritual will helpparticipants have the peak experience to achieve therapeutic effect.Ritual in other areas hashad practical applications. It can be used into moral education in school and enhancing thejudicial authority in the judicial work, which provides reference for the application of ritualin social work.Based on previous literature research, combined with the actual needs, I divide ritualinto four categories, namely the transition ritual, ritualized activities, festival celebration, etiquette and analyze the way to use each kind of ritual in the social work and its effects. To examine the effects of ritual in the social work practice, I apply the theory and skills ofritual to the program"Happy Junior"of The Second Suzhou Venture Philanthropy. In theprogram, I explore the four types of ritual, reflect on the effect of the practice and sum upthe experience and skills in the process of ritual.
