The strength of the people physique is the important foundation and guaranteefor the prosperity and development of a country, especially young students’ physicalstrength. Based on the fact that middle school period is the most important stage atwhich students grow fast and factors has great impact on their growth, this paperfocuses on the physical condition of middle school students. As a typical coastal citywith advanced economy, technology and culture, Qingdao’s physical fitness testingand education reform are at the forefront of the country. However, by far there is nosystematic research on the physical fitness of Qingdao middle school students. So thispaper presents a research on the physique condition and influencing factors ofQingdao middle school students, and makes some scientific and targeted suggestions.This paper seeks to analyze students’ physical fitness in body physiques, physicalfunctions and physical quality, and its influencing factors based on the random sampleof20school (5urban junior secondary,5urban senior secondary,5rural juniorsecondary,5rural senior secondary) through literature, questionnaires, expertinterviews, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis and other researchmethods.The result shows that:1. The physical development of middle school students in Qingdao is generallygood, but there is a certain percentage of malnutrition and obesity. Their height andweight increase with the growth of age, and boys’ indicators are higher than girls’;due to the different growth and development of boys and girls, physical functionshows different characteristics. Boys’ physical function is better than girls; with thegrowth of age their vital capacity increases, their physical quality level graduallyimproves.2. Of the same grade and sex the test data of urban middle school students arehigher than rural middle school students in height, weight and grip. But in vitalcapacity, men’s1000meter race, women’s800meter race,50meter race, and standing long jump, it is lower than rural middle school student. And the difference is obvious.3. Qingdao middle school students pay less attention to their physical health.Their eating habits and rest time are unscientific. They lack of physical exercise andnecessary exercise intensity, and their study pressure is too large.4. The leaders of Qingdao middle school do not pay enough attention to theschool sports. Middle school PE teachers’ specialized skills and students’ interest insports is not consistent. The exercise intensity of sports practice course is small. Thenumber of sports equipment city school basically reaches the standard, while somerural middle schools lack of equipment.5. Although parents strongly support their children to participate in physicalexercise, they have rare time and little money investment.To solve the above problems, the paper makes some scientific and specificsuggestions. Firstly, the evaluation system for students should be optimized and thestudents’ understanding of their physical condition should be enhanced. Secondly,more attention should be paid to students’ nutrition and health education, and theteachers are supposed to teach more scientific knowledge of fitness. Thirdly, teachersshould stimulate student interest in sport and improve students’ sports consciousness.Fourth, students’ physical exercise load should be ensured and they should adhere toexercise one hour a day. Fifth, schools should emphasis sports theory course and richsports practice course. Sixthly, schools should ensure the number of PE teachers andimprove the level of PE teachers. Seventhly, schools should increase the constructionof sports facilities and teachers should develop a variety of sports resources. Lastly,leaders should raise attention and parents should increase investment.
