| Recently, more and more researches are carried out in the field of education in elementary schools and secondary schools for the purpose of promoting the capacity building for both faculties and schools. However, there are still some problems in the administration of education and research at this level, which hinder the quality improvement of education and research. The priority in this aspect is to make the research in elementary and secondary schools more standard, scientific and institutional.This project is aimed at identifying the problems and finding the solutions accordingly. Three to five secondary schools in Xincheng District in Hohhot are selected as samples for theoretical and empirical studies. Under the framework of educational administration, the author reviews and analyzes related literature, based on which the author conducts surveys and interviews. Questionnaires are given to the headmasters, deans and teachers of3to5elementary schools in Hohhot with a total sample of350. Ten selected samples are invited to have interviews with the researcher to reveal more information about their teaching and researching. A comparative study is carried out to find the differences of the current situation of various schools with some enlightening results. Some problems are revealed through the survey, such as the lack of effective management mechanism, the gap between theories and practice and the short of motivation in faculties as well as the difficulties in rolling out of the research results.The following causes to those problems are indentified, such as the examination results-oriented evaluation system, poor research awareness and capabilities of the faculties as well as the ineffective faculty performance evaluation mechanism.It is concluded that the following measures should be taken to upgrade the research administration:first, the education administration and the schools should enhance their awareness and attach more importance to the research; second, the faculty members should cultivate their research capabilities to take more initiative in conducting more researches; third, the education administrations; third, improving administration should improve the management system with more input in researches; fouth, an enabling environment should be formed in which teachers are more motivated to do researches. |
