As is known to all, English listening and speaking are very important inlearning English. Therefore, helping students to improve listening andspeaking is one of the English teachers teaching objectives. As the secondclass of English training, English Corner has created the communicationenvironment of linguistic comprehensive application for students which isfreer, easier and closer to life so that students can put their knowledge intopractice. Through constant practice, more students will be improved inEnglish listening and speaking. In this thesis, the author tries to talk about herpersonal opinions in addition to some problems and methods we should payattention to on English Corner.The thesis can be divided into five parts. The first part is the introductionwhich includes the background, significance and layout of the study. Thesecond part presents the theoretical background related to English Corner:They are Krashen s Input Hypothesis, Swain s Output Hypothesis, theInteraction Hypothesis. Besides, some relative studies at home and abroad arealso offered. All these provide the solid theoretical basis for the topic. Thethird part shows how English Corner is carried out in Wuhai No.10MiddleSchool. Then in the fourth part, relevant data was collected and analyzed. Inthe last part, by comparing and analyzing the data, it turns out that EnglishCorner is effective in improving senior school students English listening andspeaking even though there exists some potential problems and disadvantages.However, measures will be taken to improve English Corner in Wuhai No.10Middle School in order to benefit more students.
