The standards of compulsory education English curriculum states clearly that the task ofEnglish course is to enable students to master some basic knowledge of English and the skills oflistening, speaking, reading and writing, forming a certain overall language proficiency; to inspireand educate students to learn English interest, building self-confidence, developing good studyhabits and forming effective learning strategies, to lay a good foundation for their lifelong learningand development. But in the actual teaching, most junior high school English teachers focus onteaching language knowledge and put less emphasis on listening and speaking teaching, therefore aphenomenon of deaf English and dumb English appeared, while this phenomenon isparticularly serious in the rural junior high school English teaching.Under the guidance of constructivism theory and teaching philosophy of students-centeredand teacher-led, combined with the conditions of rural junior high school English teaching, basedon the objectives in the curriculum standard,basic forms of language practice and the characteristicsof rural junior high school students, the study develops a set of English listening and speakingstrategies supported by the information technology, and applies them to the actual classroomteaching, to stimulate and maintain students’ interest and enthusiasm for English listening andspeaking and improve students’ English listening and speaking abilities. In this study, the strategiesinclude:1. The strategy of creating information teaching situation;2. The strategy of integratingmultimedia teaching resources;3.The strategy of preparing and using flexibly English classroomlanguage;4. The strategy of using a variety of methods to teach the correct pronunciation of words;5. The strategy of making teaching content be closed to daily life and more practical;6. The strategyof linking up with predicting-listening-retelling-interacting one by one.Research methods used in the study include literature research, educational measurement,questionnaire, educational experiments, statistical analysis, by a period of six months specificteaching activities to verify the effectiveness of the English listening and speaking teachingstrategies in the rural junior middle school under the support of information technology. Establishrural junior high school English listening and speaking ability measurement tools and questionnaire,the former include the pretest written test questions (including listening), the first stage written testquestions (including listening), the second stage written test questions (including listening), thethird stage written test questions (including listening) and the posttest written test questions (including listening), the pretest oral test questions and the posttest oral test questions; the latterincludes one questionnaire used in the pretest and posttest. The experiment selects two parallelclasses of the first grade in a certain rural junior high school of Dezhou in Shandong Province assubject, through pre-test to determine the experimental class and control class, conductedconventional teaching in the control class, conducted experimental teaching with the Englishlistening and speaking teaching strategies in the rural junior middle school under the support ofinformation technology in the experimental class. In the teaching process, the process is dividedinto three stages, depending on different stage to make appropriate adjustments to the strategies.After a semester teaching, through post-test, obtain the English consolidated results (includinglistening), oral performance and survey data of the experimental class and the contral class, toverify the effectiveness of the English listening and speaking teaching strategies in the rural juniormiddle school under the support of information technology.The results of statistical analysis show that the use of English listening and speaking teachingstrategies in the rural junior high school under the support of information technology can improvestudents English synthesized scores, listening scores and oral scores; it also can stimulate andmaintain students’ interest and enthusiasm for English listening and speaking.
