| Classroom teaching is a fundamental way of education and a mainplace to promote the school education, to carry out comprehensive qualityeducation, and to carry out the new round of curriculum reform.Classroom teaching effectiveness, on the one hand, it affects students’learning and performance in the short term and it may influence theirlong-term comprehensive development. On the other hand, it is closelyrelated to the professional development of teachers themselves, theschool’s survival and the long-term development of the whole educationsystem and cultivation of talent.This paper is conducted through the investigation of the currentsituation of senior English classroom teaching and factors affecting theeffectiveness of classroom teaching are summarized. The results of thispaper can provide research data in terms of English classroom teachingand help English teachers to establish a correct understanding ofstrategies to carry out teaching. It’s also conducive to providing areference for teachers and enhancing teachers’ professional development.This thesis is divided into six parts.The first chapter is the introduction. Under the New Englishcurriculum, the part of introduction mainly expounds the background ofthe teaching research, the purpose and significance of the study, andquestions to be explored.The second chapter is the definition of classroom teachingeffectiveness and the study of the theory and practice of Englishclassroom teaching effectiveness at home and abroad which providestheory basis of this research. The third chapter is about the research design and methodology.Research methods and instruments are employed to carry out theempirical research and analysis of English classroom teachingeffectiveness. In this section, combined with senior school new Englishcurriculum standard, both qualitative and quantitative methods areemployed including observation, interview and survey. It aims to analyzethe present situation of senior English teaching and find out theinfluencing factors of effective teaching.The fourth chapter mainly deals with research results and analysis,and factors influencing English classroom teaching effectiveness.Classroom teaching is a bilateral interaction between teachers’ teachingand students’ learning. Teaching effectiveness is achieved by teachers’practice including teaching content, materials organization, teachingmethods, teaching assessment, etc. Meanwhile, students, as the main roleof teaching, play a large part in teaching effectiveness. Factors likemotivation, learning habit, learning strategies act as decisive role ineffective learning. Thus high attention should be paid to train students’learning strategies, eventually students will be able to learn independentlyand effectively without teachers’ guidance.The fifth chapter is about proposed teaching strategies concerningeffective classroom teaching.The sixth chapter is conclusion. It summarizes the researchachievements of this paper, the unresolved questions and limitations andmentions the future struggle of educators and teachers. |
