The Pre-Qin is the "Axial Age" of Chinese history,"Axial Age" created a very richoriginal ideological education. The Personality Education Thought of Confucian isOne of the original pre-Qin education thought,which formed our national spirit andcultural heritage has made tremendous contributions.China since ancient times has agreat importance to the tradition of personality education,especially the pre-qinConfucian put forward the rich contents of personality education thought.Tradition isthe origin of the modern,modern is an extension of the traditional anddevelopment.We attach great importance to the modern personality education,fromthe traditional Confucian personality education thought to absorb beneficialnutrients.MAO Zedong once said:"from Confucius to sun yat-sen, we should sum up,the precious inheritance."So, today we’re going to construct a mode to adapt to thesocialist market economy new personality will absorb and transform the traditionalconcept of personality.We can make the essence of the pre-qin Confucian personalityeducation thoughts inherit and carry forward.This paper attempts to analyze and unearth the personality education ideology ofPre-Qin Dynasty Confucian systematically and comprehensively from theperspectives of historical background, theoretical foundation, principles and methods,and its modern value.This will not only enrich and develop the theory of personalityeducation thought of Pre-Qin Confucian,and we can use personality education toexamine the perspective of China’s education reform,and gradually improve the statusof personality education.This thesis can be divided into six parts in total:Firstly, in the introduction part, the paper will define the basic concepts involved,introduce the research background and methodology, and expound the theoreticalsignificance and application value.The second part will analyze the historical background of Pre-Qin DynastyConfucian from four aspects: economic development, political reform, culturalcollision, and the nascent development of technology. Also, the paper will discuss thetheoretical foundation of Pre-Qin Dynasty Confucian from the aspects of human-nature-unity theory and the theory of human nature.The third part unscrambles the aim of personality education on pre-QinConfucianism via three aspects which are personality integrity of sage,gentlemen andscholar.Pre-Qin Confucian ideal personality is a moral personality,To realize thisobjective,they need sage,gentlemen and scholar’s moral example to reflect this moralideal.The fourth part interprets the main content of Pre-Qin Dynasty Confuciancomprehensively, including kindheartedness and filial piety, and principle ofbenevolence and loyalty; using righteousness to restrict profit, and loyalty first;honesty and trustworthiness, modesty and courtesy; unremitting self-improvementand aiming high; people-oriented and be industrious, honest in administration;respecting the Tao and honoring virtue, and self-cultivation; collectivism and the ideaof golden mean and harmony.The ideal personality was respected by Pre-QinConfucian,which is expressed as truth, goodness and beauty of unity.It not onlycontains the inherent virtue, but shows the virtues in external,so it shows the unity ofvirtue and morality.From the inside, internally and externally is the selection andarrangement personality Pre-Qin Confucian educational content basic criteria.The fifth part analyzes the principle and method of personality education onpre-Qin Confucianism which are combination of studying and thinking, restrainingand introspecting oneself, correcting one’s mistake to be nice, self-restraining inprivacy and unity of moral knowledge and practice.Pre-Qin Confucian worked out alot of the education law in the long-term educational practice,accumulated a lot ofvaluable experience and summed up many effective methods of personality educationtheory,which is rich, deep understanding.The sixth part discusses modern value of personality education on pre-QinConfucianism which points out the fundamental significance for reference to guide usto perfect the theory of personality education in our country, to direct the practice ofpersonality education and to build up the harmonious socialist society.
