In information age, the rapid growth of knowledge, update speed, in the contextof this era, self-directed learning has become a dynamic source of individual survivaland development, the comprehensive progress of economic and social developmentand people’s increasing reliance on knowledge innovation and application ofknowledge, and the university students as the main force of talents, the status ofautonomous learning research is of important significance. This study focuses on twoproblems of investigation and research on the college students. How college students’self-directed learning situation? What are the main factors affect college students’self-directed learning? On the basis of the investigation on these two issues,appropriate recommendations for improving the students’ self-directed learning arepur forward..In reference to an existing questionnaire based on self college students learningquestionnaire, Northeast Normal University,230undergraduate students wererandomly selected to carry out the research, and statistical analysis of the survey data,the following conclusions:1. Northeast Normal University undergraduate self-directed learning overalllevel is better。2. Differences are observed with different background variables in terms ofcollege students’ self-directed learning. male college students’ self-directed learningsituation is slightly better than the female students; liberal arts college students’self-directed learning situation better than science students; Free education forstudents and other types of students’ self-directed learning situation no significantdifference; There is no significant difference between different grades of collegestudents’ self-directed learning situation in general.3. The internal factors including study habits, learning concepts, learningattitudes, motivation as well as external factors including teachers, peer groups,learning environment, social and cultural all affect college students’ self-directedlearning.In accordance with the research subject and its conclusion, the thesis offers aseries of suggestions on college students’ self-directed learning.
