Comparative Study Of Changsha City And Township Primary School Development Present Situation Of Sunshine Sports

The essence of Sunshine Sports (SS) is aiming to let students walk into thenature and the sunshine to take part in sports activities beneficial to their health. Andits final goal is aiming to cultivate the youth’s sports consciousness and to keep themhealth. The development of SS is one of the important national measures to changethe fact that the health situation of the youth is declining persistently. The reform ofsports teaching has been brought into the national teaching reform plan. It has beenrequested serious treatment from students and sports teaching workers, and theemphasis on it is unprecedented. However, while the system has been built up, how’sthe advancement of the system? Has the SS really taught the youth the healthy way oflife and improve their physical quality as the system-makers has expected? Accordingto a recent national youth physical health report, the physical health condition ofadolescents in2010is better than that in2005in some aspects, such as the emergenceof the turning point in the lung capacity level after its continuous declination in20years, the improvements of power, endurance, flexibility and so on. Thoseimprovements are reached by efforts of many fields which surely contains the SSreform. But after getting some success, is it the right time for us to celebrate? As amatter of fact, it shows that there are larger promotions of power, endurance andflexibility among urban students than those among rural ones. What are the reasonsfor those differences? What differences are there of SS between urban and ruralschools? And what problems and difficulties are there in the SS development? Thispaper is an attempt to solve these problems through the questionnaire of thedevelopment of SS in urban and rural elementary school in Changsha and to find outfeasible measures to solve all the problems.Several conclusions have been reached in the paper. The SS development inChangsha urban elementary schools is better than that in rural ones. Faculties andequipments in urban elementary schools can fit the requirements, while in rural elementary schools are lack of equipments and faculties are old in age and not high indegree so they are not able to give students much instructions. Some schools onlyhave few sports courses and put little emphasis on the request that students have to dophysical exercises one hour a day. And students’ parents put little attention on SSdevelopment. Urban students’ parents worry too much about the safety and ruralstudents’ parents know little about physical exercises and are unable to guide them.But most students, parents and teachers are optimistic about the development of SS inChangsha elementary schools.
