Attention is one of the Windows of the soul, occupies an important role in the teaching process, onlythe knowledge what has been noted by students can be further processed. The21st century is aninformation age, the attention of students will be affected along with a variety of novel stimuli. Teachingthrough games as a new type of teaching method that accords with the attention of students, is widelyapplied by teachers. Combining entertaining with educational of games teaching has important theoreticaland practical significance to attract students’ attention. Currently, the research of teaching through gamesjust focused on the educational game design, development and impact assessment; the integration of gamesand curriculum; the confluent of games and virtual reality. Whether games teaching can arouse students’attention is still in the exploratory stage, and excellent instructional design is essential to exert its maximumvalue, based on this the paper proposes the following theme "a research on instructional design strategies ofthe junior physics teaching through games based on attention theory ".This paper describes the status of attention theory and teaching through games at home and abroad,introduces games teaching into junior middle school physics based on the perspective of psychology andthe curriculum standard. The author made a research on the correlation of the games teaching and students’attention by questionnaires and interviews, then discusses the feasibility of games teaching to improvelearning attention, and the necessity and principles of instructional design of teaching through games.Summarizes the process of instructional design and the relational model with attention, proposes thecorresponding strategies about how to concentrate the students’ attention for objective, instructional content,instructional strategy and instructional evaluation.The innovation point of this article is introducing attention theory into the games teaching process,where the advantages of the game can be exploited that based on systematic method and psychology, so asto arouse the students’ attention, and achieve the purpose of teaching effectiveness optimization. Toguarantee the students’ learning attention and autonomy, elaborate instructional design of teaching throughgames and comprehensive analysis of teaching process is essential.Due to the small sample is selected, so the strategies that summed up require deeper research and examine. In the future, research will concentrate on the relationship of attention and each element to gamein a large template, so that the instructional design strategies of teaching through games can be betterpopularized and applied.
