At present, with the concept of lifelong learning promoted andpeople’ s understandings to vocational education changed, more and morepeople choose vocational education. As to the current development ofvocational education in China, most secondary&higher vocationalschools choose the mode of basic education and higher education to trainskilled talents. To the characteristics of vocational education, theintroduction of new teaching ideas is urgent.In foreign countries, project based learning is widely used in manyvocational schools. In China, researches on project based learning hadcarried out either. Minority secondary&higher vocational schools areparticipated in the new teaching model of project based learning.Teaching material is an essential element in the process of teachingand learning. A high-quality material is not only to show the learningcontent, but also the characteristics of the discipline. At the pointof teaching material, project based learning want to applied invocational class usefully, project based teaching material is essential.Nowadays, project based teaching material which is matched withvocational education curriculum is deficient, and researches in thisarea is deficient either. In the view of reality needs, I think, it isvaluable to discuss the development of project based teaching material.In th"e paper,1summarized the opinions on vocational educationteaching material” and “project based teachi,ng material, by Chinesescholars, putting forward the model of develop project based teachingmaterial which is introduced by mechanical fault through investigation,design and practice, showing the theoretical basis and practical value of project based teaching material. The whole paper includes sixchapters:Chapter one summarized the development of domestic vocationaleducation, pointed out the problem and its existing sources, expoundedthe basic ideas to solve the problem;Chapter two defined the core conceptions mentioned in the paper,showed out the connotation of vocational education, summarized theresearches on related issues in this area, illustrated the theoreticalbasis of the paper;Chapter three is about the research carried out on the domesticteaching material used in secondary vocational schools. After analyzingthe survey data collected, there is a brief introduction on high-qualityteaching material in vocational education in different countries;Under the guidance of theoretical foundation and survey data,chapter four puts forward the model of develop project based teachingmaterial which is introduced by mechanical fault. According to the model,developed a new project based teaching material on the content of theApplication and Maintenance of Autos major.Chapter five is about the evaluation of the new developed projectbased teaching material based on the model. According to the datacollected in the evaluation, completed the revise of the project basedteaching material and model.The last part of the paper is conclusions, including theachievements and shortcomings in the research, the Forecast to thedevelopment of the research in the future.
