Ordinary high school chemistry curriculum standard (Experiment) requires students to"have a thorough understanding of the significant role that model construction and otherscientific methods play in chemical research". The model method is a way to reveal theprototype form, characteristics and essence by studying the model, and it is a form oflogical method. High school students can develop their competence of analyzing andsolving problems by learning intuitive chemistry models, which both benefits the teachersand students and it is an effective way to improve the teaching efficiency.The study of Chemistry Teaching in senior high school was carried out on modeltheory and teaching practice. Two parallel classes in Grade One were chosen as subjects.One is the experimental class; the other is the control class. During the experiment, thephysical model, conceptual model and mathematical model are applied to the experimentalclass. The results show that the experimental class performed significantly better than thecontrol class after the application of model teaching.
