The Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017)emphasizes the cultivation of students' chemistry core literacy.Model cognitive literacy plays an important role,which requires students to seek relationships among various elements,construct cognitive models,and explain chemical problems with models.With the promulgation of the new chemistry curriculum standards,the content and structure of chemistry curriculum have been adjusted to a certain extent to emphasize the leading position of big ideas.With the big ideas of chemistry as the link,the tedious and fragmentary chemical knowledge is organized to help students build models and apply models to cultivate students' model cognitive literacy.On the basis of theoretical research,this paper constructs the selection standard of the big idea of chemistry,carefully selects big ideas of chemistry,and puts forward the general teaching mode of cultivating the model cognitive literacy of high school students from the perspective of the big concept of chemistry.In the early stage,teachers selected the big idea,determined key concepts,designed learning progression,created real problem scenarios,and designed research tasks.Driven by tasks,students carry out activities,complete tasks,construct cognitive models,and apply and improve the models in real problem situations.Based on the teaching practice,this paper puts forward the teaching strategies of cultivating model cognitive quality of high school students based on the big idea of chemistry,such as creating real problem situations,designing bad structural tasks,and implementing the integration of "teaching,learning and evaluation" and so on.According to the constructed teaching model and the proposed teaching practice strategy,two major concepts of "scientific inquiry" and "the views of energy " were selected for teaching design,and experimental class and control class were selected for teaching practice.After the educational experiment,the designed test volume were used to measure model cognitive level of high school students.By analyzing the experimental data,it was proved that the teaching based on the big idea of chemistry can cultivate the model cognitive literacy of senior high school students to a certain extent,which indicates that the teaching model based on the big idea of chemistry to cultivate the model cognitive literacy of senior high school students has certain teaching applicability,and also provides an operational path for cultivating the model cognitive literacy of senior high school students.
