The model is a structure used to describe or simulate the object or a process in a approximate way. The model method is a way to reveal the prototype form, characteristics and essence by studying the object, and it is a form of logical method. The objectives of the biology curriculum standards is to make the knowledge in model and laws the required for all students. For the first time, mathematical method and model method is marked of great importance for high school science method education. It is clearly stated that student shall"interpret the data processing by mathematical method".The first part in this article describes concept and categorization of the model and model approaches. It details the main characteristics, functions, modelling theory and the significance in high school biology teaching.The second part shows the present situation of the high school biology teaching model construction . Here the author designs two questionnaires, for high school teachers, and high school students respectively. The results are analyzed to present a preliminary understanding of the high school biology model teaching , in order to improve and develop the teaching method.The third part presents the author's model teaching research in high school. The results show that the model teaching is able to improve the students' interest in learning, help students knowledge construction, improve the students' ability to solve problems, and change the teacher's teaching concpetion.
