Ever since the reform and opening-up, both Chinese economy and the process ofurbanization have boomed. As the scale of mobile population continues to expand, thestructure is significantly changed, from “single-man migration” to “household migration”.As a chief reason of household migration, the education of floating children is paid highattention. In the education of floating children, family education is important andfundamental, which undertakes great pressure and fierce challenge, thus becomes asignificant social problem.Guided by family education theory of pedagogy and social sciences, along with theuse of qualitative research, this article chooses three migrant families to do a small sampleresearch. After investigating the families thoroughly from the perspective of pedagogy, theauthor explores the migrant household’s makeup and interpersonal relationship as well asrelations among the current situation, the content of floating children’s family educationand school education. During field research, the author finds out education deficiencies inthe three families through on-site inspection and open-ended interviews, and then tries tocome up with personal suggestions based on individual cases.This article is divided into four parts. The first part is introduction. To begin with, itintroduces reasons for this research; what follows is literature review that mainlysummarizes and evaluates domestic researches about floating population and floatingchildren’s both school education and family education; then it talks about some importantconcepts mentioned in this article. The second part is research design which mainlydiscusses the research process, including choosing the methods and study object,protocolling interview outline, collecting materials and author’s reflection. The crucial partis the third one, in which author describes the current situation and deficiencies of samplefamilies detailedly with case study, thus comes to a conclusion on the basis of analysis. The fourth part is to give suggestions. After studying and summarizing, the author comes upwith personal suggestions about family education, and then puts forward ways andcontents of school intervention according to parents’ demands.
